lans for Convention 2010 are in full swing. Be sure you get in on all the fun and sisterhood by registering before April 30. Registration materials are available on the Sisters Only portion of the ZTA Web site under Resources/Convention and NLC Forms. Log in today to download your forms.
Our Convention Initiate will be Tanya Snyder, breast cancer survivor and awareness advocate. Mrs. Snyder, whose husband owns the Washington Redskins, was instrumental in helping to organize ZTA’s first Think Pink! event and partnership with the National Football League.
The recpient of the ZTA Outstanding Alumna Award will be broadcast journalist Betty Nguyen, the new anchor of the CBS Morning News and former weekend anchor at CNN. An award-winning reporter, Betty is an alumna of Kappa Chapter at The University of Texas at Austin.
Here’s a schedule of Convention events to whet your appetite for the trip to New Orleans:
- Wednesday, July 7: Opening Session; Dinner (Housing Corporation and House Director Awards)
- Thursday, July 8: First Business Meeting; Lunch (State of the Fraternity Address); Dinner (Speech by Convention Initiate Tanya Snyder; Collegiate Crown Chapter Awards), Initiation and Memorial Service after dinner.
- Friday, July 9: Second Business Meeting; Philanthropy Luncheon; Dinner (Honor Rings and Alumnae Crown Chapter Awards); Collegiate Dessert Party and Alumnae Reception
- Saturday, July 10: Final Business Meeting and Election of National Council; Lunch (Outstanding Alumna Award and speech by Betty Nguyen) Free Afternoon; Recognition Banquet
- Sunday, July 11: Jazz Breakfast
