The Crown Connection

You can now make donations to the Foundation through the ZTA Web site using a credit card.

The process is simple. You can select a preset amount to donate or enter a specific amount yourself. The site accepts Visa and MasterCard only, and you will need to enter the security code from the back of your card.

Once you have completed all the information, you simply click the “Donate” button to send your gift to the Foundation. After a few seconds of processing, you will see a confirmation screen that includes your name and address, the date, the amount, and the last four digits of your credit card. You may print this screen as your receipt. You will also receive a thank you letter from the ZTA Foundation.

The Florida State Alumni Association is hosting a Seminoles at Sea Cruise in October 2009. This cruise is open to ALL FSU Alumni, Friends, and Fans.  The deadline for booking our discounted rates is June 25th.

You can get together with your ZTA sisters for a reunion and enjoy the amenities of a Disney Cruise at the same time.

In addition to taking these wonderful women into our sisterhood, we participated in SHU’s Go Greek Week, Jan. 26-30, 2009, and formally pledged 41 new members into the colony.
• Zeta Tau Alpha is also absorbing a local sorority at the University of Rhode Island.

We’re pleased to announce the calendar of events. We look forward to seeing you at one or more activities!

Come run, walk or just cheer!  Fun Run/Walk/5K Race raising money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and ZTA Foundation breast cancer awareness projects.  Course starts from the ZTA House and winds through the FSU campus.  Bring your family and friends.  ENTRY FEE:  $12 in advance, $15 on race day.  Click here to download the registration form..

Breakfast buffet honoring breast cancer survivors and their families.  All ZTA alumnae, family and friends are welcome and will receive a free ticket to the FSU-Miami women’s basketball game immediately following the breakfast.  Survivors will be given a pink t-shirt to wear to the game and will be recognized at halftime.  Breast cancer survivors are free, $10 requested donation for other guests.  No RSVP required.

Your ZTA Tallahassee Area Alumnae Chapter is looking for a few good ZTA ladies to step-up and serve a
one-year leadership term starting in May 2009.  Positions and responsibilities include:

• President:  Liaison with national and collegiate chapter, help plan alumnae events, annual report
• Vice President:  Help plan alumnae events, prepare alumnae newsletter twice a year
• Treasurer:  Maintain financial records, manage budget, collect dues, pay bills, annual report
• Secretary:  Maintain membership lists, distribute alumnae newsletter, send event email reminders

Each position requires on average four hours a month.

We are also searching for a new House Association President.  The House Association President prepares the annual funding request, oversees improvement/maintenance projects, monitors housing-related expenses and works with the House Director to ensure the safe, efficient operation of the ZTA House at FSU.  If you have decorating flair and like spending someone else’s money, this job is for you!

If you prefer to work with the collegiate chapter, there are a lot of opportunities to get involved as an advisor.

Alumnae Panhellenic First Tuesday

Beta Gamma Chapter’s Crown Classic — The ZTA collegiate chapter at FSU will host their annual Crown Classic flag football tournament at the FSU intramural fields on November 22-23 to raise money for the ZTA Foundation and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Cash and in-kind donations and business sponsorships are needed to support the event.  Come out and cheer the teams to victory!  For more information, contact Danielle Goeller.

Race to Live will be next semester.  Lauren Combs is the contact person for Race.  Race is scheduled for Feb 21.  Lauren has sign up forms and sponsorship forms if anyone is interested.
